The absolute highlight of my week is a dance class. There are no mistakes. Just brilliant solos. [Thanks to Pirita Tuisku who should be trademarking this as her mantra!]
Smiles and laughter abound. I honestly grin from start to finish [usually around my mismatched arms and legs]. Each dance is scaffolded beautifully – building it up, movement upon movement – and ‘wrong moves’ simply don’t exist. It’s a lesson for life, particularly at a time of year when movement is so crucial.
December can be super challenging.
A looming Christmas highlights worries, be they financial, emotional, physical, familial … carefully wrapped for fear of exposure, or of judgement.
We all know exercise can be important in lightening a mental load, but with such short, dark days, even that can be a challenge to fit into the working day.
So, in the spirit of all of the above, a love of dance and with the help of a few game chums who have contributed already [thank you], please be introduced to #dancewhilethekettleboils – a playlist on Spotify to help you move [mental mountains] over the next couple of weeks.
You might even be inspired while you dance … whether to remember someone who might be lonely, or grieving, at this time of year, or about a recipe for leftovers.
At work, at home, outside, inside, even a quick #dancewhilethekettleboils will replenish endorphins to help you through whatever comes next.
Find me on LinkedIn and add your thoughts as to what should be added to the playlist [nothing Christmas-y please].
